Experiencing the Zambezi can be done in many different ways but one of my favorite ways is to go with Sam and rely on reliable, save transportation and making sure everyone involved can enjoy the river and everything surrounding it in a proper way and making sure to live the Zambezi live to the fullest!

A personal touch on a popular destination, Sambezi has it all. Born and raised on the banks of the Zambezi river, Sam’s extensive knowledge of the river, and area shine through in his guiding. His hands on approach with all of his guests starts before you are in the river and lasts well into the night when all the kayaking is done for the day! Kayaking aside, it’s the extra activities that Sambezi provides that really elevate the experience available for kayakers on the Zimbabwe side of the river. Lunch on the ridge overlooking #9, easy, a personal sunset cruise stocked with gin and tonics, no sweat, a special night out in the elephant camp, just ask! Sam has the personality, experience and connections to customize and execute the Zambezi kayaking trip of your dreams!”

Our trip to Zimbabwe was a blast especially thanks to Sam and his logistic. Always kind, available and friendly, Sam can count in an incredibly big and performant agency to plan and use facilities as transport and more, Wild horizon. We didn't had to think about anything because Sam was doing it all for us. Organisation, transport, lunch, all with great professionalism. In addition to all that, Sam is an incredible kayaker. Beeing the only true local, he knows all the waves and holes of the Zambesi and there is for sure no one like him to show you his run, the almighty zam. Strong and technical, he will not only show you all the possibles lines but as well make you feel confortable and safe on the water. We arrived as client and we left as friends, and there is nothing better than that, with Sam opening the doors of his home or taking care of us on days of from the river, going to fish or to game drive around. Highly recommended.

Stopping in Zimbabwe and kayaking the Zambezi with Sam was the highlight of my trip! Sam is a fantastic guide on and off the water. The local knowledge for accommodation, transport and entertainment was invaluable and there was always something to do. We got right under Victoria Falls and I got some sweet photos on the rapids. The kayaks were basically brand new with a few options available. Sam was happy work with us and adjust the trip to suit, I even got a half day kayaking in before my flight out!

2/11/23 Arrived on Victoria Falls from Nambia. We were based on Shoe String hostel , raccomanded by Sam that immediatelly shows up when we arrived. Place is cozy, big and with super nice staff. Willin to do their best to make you feel home! Best people of Vic Falls . Once we got some rest , on the days after, Sam provide to take us to the river , giving us kayak, paddle, lifejacket and if you need some other equipement he has it! Guiding us first to the Look Out Cafè which is an awesome rafting center and restaurant, above zambesi canyon ( just above rapid n 3 ) . This is the place where your river Adventure starts. Probably the best spot i’ve seen in Africa! Once you’ve meet the guide and sing up it’s time for action !!! Walking down a steep stairs We’d reach Zambesi put-in on Zimbabwe side. You can choose if put in in N2 or walk a little bit more and start at N1 . Is not much of a walk .. all the way 10 min. First impression on the river immediatelly felt huge. Big wave, big canyon , waterfalls and warm water! But everybody is smiling! Sam take care of me since biginning , explane me and show me the Lines at every rapid. We even went out to scout few of the biggest ones, which help me. He knows every inch of this river , the way the water moves, at every flow. So he knows perfectly where to stay on the rapid. Chicken or tiger Line. In Caos he feels home so he can easily rescue you if you mess up some rapid like me. Hahahah After 5hrs of magic paddling and 15 min walking out of the river Sam provide for lunch and trust me , you’ll need it! 30min drive and we where back to vic Falls . This river gimme fear and adrenaline but if after a while you get use to it you’ll understand how funny is it. Unique in the world! And trurly as safe as it gets. In the days when we weren’t paddling we’ve been on a boat with Sam above the Falls and i really enjoi it . Crocodile and hippo sights , chilling time and laughs . Sam even provides for a game drive where we saw elefanths, buffalo and loooots of other animals. Great sunset laps on the park. I raccomand to go of course to visit the rain forest of the park where you can take a closer look at the victoria falls, which are waaaaaay better in Zimbabwe side Just three place in the world are like that: Iguazu, Niagara and Victoria Falls. MASSIVE. Vibes of this place is great and it must be lived once on a lifetime! Big time and incredibile trip. Thank’s to Sam and Wild Horizon for make that happen. Cheers. Valerio.

Sam helped us plan a fantastic trip to Victoria Falls as part of our honeymoon! Our goal was to squeeze in both kayaking on the Zambezi River as well as experience many other activities that Vic Falls has to offer. Without Sam’s help, we would have only achieved a fraction of what we managed to. Sam managed the logistics of finding and booking our accommodation, getting us a sweet deal in the process. He helped with all our other logistics too, including gear, local knowledge and recommendations, booking tours and activities, all with a personal touch. I would highly recommend Sam (and Victoria Falls) to anyone who is considering an adventure holiday to the area.
